Starting school

Primary school applications for children due to start school in September 2024 are to be made online (for children who were born between 1st September 2019 and 31st August 2020) (www.essex.gov.uk/admissions) between 6th November 2023 and the closing date of 15th January 2024.

Each Trust school will be holding open events for parents / carers of children that are due to start school in September. Further details can be found on their websites. Links can be found on the 'Our schools' page.

Mid-year application

A guide to applying for a mid year school place at a Canonium Trust School 

You can apply to change your child’s school during the school year. This is called a mid-year admission. Your child is not guaranteed a place at your preferred school. You should not remove your child from their school before you have received another offer.

NB: From 1st April 2022 mid year primary school applications will no longer be handled by Essex County Council. (However, applications for children starting primary school in year R in September will continue to be dealt with by ECC Admissions Department. https://www.essex.gov.uk/apply-for-a-primary-school-place) From this date, mid year applications are to be made directly to the Canonium Learning Trust for all the schools in the group.
